Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the  Sound Energy management FAQ page.

Having conducted hundreds of sessions over the better half of a decade, we've compiled over here, for you a list of Frequently Asked Questions at our workshops.

Q.Where did this knowledge originate?

A.The power of sound has been supreme since the origin of the Universe. The Ancient Rishis of India knew it's potential and developed scientific systems to utilise this power. The power of mantras and music have been illustrated in many puranik texts, however over recent years it's implementation has dwindled. This knowledge has been revived by Dr.AS Hareesh, with guidance from the lineage of Agastya and the 18 Sidhas.

Q.My experience was different from others, how did that happen?

A.We are all creatures of conditioning; our upbringing has occurred in diverse circumstances, and also diverse is our genetic framework, our inclinations, tastes, neural pathways and so on. This causes each individual to interpret the same reality in a variety of ways. For example, certain people are more visual in nature, hence they may experience visualisations of their experience; others may be inclined to another form of perception. As with anything in life, we all experience things differently according to our previous conditioning.

Q.I experienced pains in some areas of my body.

A.Our nervous system ordinarily needs to run only a certain amount of electric impulses through it to get through the day. Metaphysical and esoteric practices often engage the same nervous system with larger volumes of energy. The science of Yoga systematically improves a persons ability to channel and regulate energy through their nerves. Think of a nerve as a stretchable pipe with a certain volume of water flowing through it; now increase the volume of water flowing....what happens is a pressure exerted on the walls of the pipe- they will stretch outwards. During the session, a higher volume of energy was routed through your nerves. Sometimes this can cause mild pain or discomfort. If there has been a previous injury to the area as well, mild pain may occour. It is nothing to worry about :)

Q.I experienced a sound as a sensation in my body - how does that work?

A.In terms of vedic elemental science - aakash(the element - space) and vaayu(the element - wind) overlap. Sound is the unique quality of aakash and has power over the element of vaayu. All of the nerve energy in our body is a grosser form of the subtle vaayus that run through the body. Hence it is very effective to use sound to regulate neuro-transmissions in the body. Our method is actually a pranayama(or regulation of this life force) through sound.

Q.Where can I learn this?

A.You may learn this from VPSRC - the authorised body to certify and teach this method. You can reach out to us on satori@satorimusic.in and we will put you through. Our mission is to spread this knowledge to the world in a reproducible way.

Q.What all courses do you offer?

A. Due to the wide spectrum of applications of music and sound energy, we have divided up our courses into a number of categories. Some categories include, theraptic, general stress care, yogic empowerment, autism and neuro developmental issues, environmental studies, live performance, research PhD and a lot more. Contact us with your specific area(s) of interest and we will be happy to assist you.

Q.What all types of events do you provide

A. We cater to a wide variety of scenarios, ranging from workshops and seminars, or even entire courses in universities, colleges and schools; to live music shows, meditation sessions, wellness retreats, sound healing camps, private sessions and a lot more.

Sound energy management

Qualitative trinity - the trigunas(satva, rajas, and tamas) is the base of the entire universe; any particle, thing or being can be relatively classified in these terms. Very generically speaking, Satvic nature is that which is refined, light and pure; rajas is that which has action, movement, motion; and tamas is that which has inertia, destruction, heavyness. These three are the base for any kind of formation in the universe. There are no borderlines, the qualities seamlessly fade across into each other. Every point of this qualitative spectrum can be further divided into the three at all levels, so classifications of formations are innumerable. Combinations of these three make almost an infinite variety of formations but that is beyond the scope of this topic.

Sound, just as any other formation in this universe, can be classified using the qualitative trinity.

When dealing with sound energy we can generally say that satvic sounds are calming, soothing in nature. Rajo-guna sounds - energising with momentum. Tama-guna sounds produce higher intensity movements, and are useful to induce a trance like hypnotic effect on the mind. So the quality of sound moves from subtle to gross across the spectrum from satva--->tama.
The classifications are relative in the sense that the pleasure (calmness or synchrony) is variable according to the quality of the listener(or intended application). For example a person with a predominantly rajas nature will find instruments with the rajas quality sound soothing and appeasing because the sound is in synchrony with his/her nature. In that particular case, a rajas sound can be said to have a satvic effect on that person.

Through the application of suitable subtle sound energy, it is possible to control any energy formations.
Classifications of the various instruments can be done based on the qualitative nature of sound that they generate. The scope of this blog is to classify various instruments based on the above framework and to create a perspective of how various sounds can be used.

Instruments :Saraswati Veena

Description:

The Saraswati Veena is an ancient vedic instrument. It consists of a long hollow neck with a large resonating chamber (often a gourd). The frets are made of metal embedded in beeswax. The human body, thechakras(centres of the subtle energy body) & their position in the spine and its musical connection leading to nadayoga has a direct influence in the manufacturing of the instrument, Veena. The setup of the frets perfectly reflects the configuration of the vertebrae on the spinal column. As of today it is most popularly used in south Indian Classical music.
